In this episode, James and Phoebe discuss what you can do when you’re feeling stuck in your business, and why’s it’s so critical that you focus on the 5% of activities that give you 95% of your results!
James is a fan of patience over persistence: of having that sense of peace, trust, knowingness and expectation. When he hears the word “persistence”, he often thinks “impatient” and “frustrated.”
If you’re feeling frustrated and that you’re doing all the right things but not seeing the results in your business, remember that this is normal.
“The struggle, the pain, the frustration is all a choice that we get to make in the moment.”
There’s good pain that leads to progress, like when working out in the gym. This type of pain is invited, but when we’re building a business, a lot of that pain is unwelcome. We have to cultivate a mindset that there is going to be trust that everything will work out.
He shares that you must identify first what you want, and then ask who you need to become in order to bring that into your life. You’ll only be successful when you have decided you will be successful with “every cell of your body.”
If you have a fear about doing something and putting yourself out there, look at who you can impact, and how much of an impact you can give them.
“I just found something that would rip me out of bed every day and it was a desire to serve at a whole other level”
James adds that if you’re a marketer, knowing what keeps prospective clients up at night isn’t enough anymore. You now have to know their whole world, and listen in on what they are seeing.
It’s easy to get caught up in the $10/hour or less tasks in your business, but if you want to generate a certain amount of revenue in a year, you’ll need to consider:
1) How much revenue do you want?
2) How many hours to do want to work in your ideal week/month?
3) What does an hourly wage have to be in order to achieve both?
Start to document everything. Look at how long it took you to do each task, and your job is to focus on the 5% of them that will give you 95% of the results that you’re after. Look for ways to systematize, automate, outsource and delegate!
